Assessment
IMDI requires participants in organized training to hold a half-yearly report during each semester, which is evaluated with a two-level pass/fail rating by an evaluation committee appointed by DIT, consisting mostly of DIT members . The half-yearly report consists of a written and an oral part.
Purpose of the half-yearly reports
That the doctoral student:
- give an account of his/her performance during the semester, the completed study, research and teaching credits, research, publication and other relevant results should be documented, on the basis of which the evaluation committee will judge whether the student’s performance meets the expectations of the IMDI training;
- reflect on its development within the framework of training competences (knowledge, attitude, research skills, autonomy and responsibility);
- receive feedback from their supervisor on their performance and the development of their competencies during the semester;
- have your study/research and personal development goals set for the next semester;
- to develop his/her presentation and research management skills;
- and the management of IMDI shall receive written feedback on the effectiveness and quality of the training. Any significant deviation from the work plan must be reported to the head of IMDI in accordance with Section 3.2 (Section 9) of the Rules of Operation.
Written part
The written report contains a concise factual summary of the literature processed during the semester, the studies completed and the research activity, the student’s self-assessment, the written feedback of the supervisor, and the study, research, publication and personal development plan for the next semester approved by the supervisor, including the material, material and human resource requirements and available resources necessary for the fulfilment of the research plan.
The written report also contains all the applications and certificates necessary for the settlement of the study, teaching and research credits completed during the semester, including a detailed summary of the student’s publication activity (based on the data recorded in the MTMT database).
The written report must be prepared in the language of the training, according to the template in Annex 8, and must be submitted by the deadline given at the time of registration, and the oral part must be submitted at least 5 working days before.
Oral part
In a 10-minute individual presentation in the language of the training, the student reports to the evaluation committee in the framework of a seminar or conference:
- the progress made in his/her research topic during the semester;
- the research activity planned for the next semester;
- the publication activity planned for the next semester;
- the individual development goals for the next semester.
After the report, the supervisor gives oral feedback on the performance and development of the doctoral student, the evaluation committee may ask questions about the content of the written and oral report, and may request the correction of deficiencies to certify the performance.
Within three working days after the oral report, the evaluation committee shall make a proposal (conditionally in case of correction of deficiencies) on the number of credits completed during the semester (including the research credits to be completed with the semester report, see section 3.5), of which a written report shall be sent to the student and the DIT.
The student must send the correction of deficiencies to the IMDI Academic Affairs Officer by the last day of the exam period. The decision on the acceptance of the half-yearly report is made by the DIT after the end of the exam period. In connection with the decision, the student may appeal to the DIT in accordance with the provisions of Sections 12-15 of the TVSZ
COMPLEX EXAM
The prerequisite for starting the research and dissertation phase is that the student has successfully passed a complex exam. The complex exam consists of a theoretical and a dissertation part. Anyone who has obtained 90 credit points can apply for the complex exam. In the case of organised training, the provisions of Section 3.3 (Section 10) of the Operating Rules of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Section 3.4 (Section 11) of the Operating Rules of the Faculty of Pharmacy shall apply in the case of individual preparations.
The theoretical part of the complex exam is an oral exam, during which the examinee is asked questions about two topics:
- Field-specific knowledge of IMDI’s compulsory subjects: innovation theories, innovation management and innovation policy, and management theories (see section 3.7).
- The material of the compulsory elective subject completed by the student (see Section 3.7).
Doctoral students will be informed about the topics to be examined in the complex exam during registration for the fourth semester.
