The Doctoral School of Innovation Management (IMDI) at Obuda University was established in early 2023 as the first doctoral school of its kind in our region. We currently have 15 students.
Our research focuses on innovation theory, domestic innovation (at the national level, universities, SMEs, and other organizations), and specific fields within this area. Our goal is to assess domestic innovation opportunities, analyze experiences, and contribute to the development of effective innovation strategies. Our primary goal is to identify gaps that require scientific research, to conduct the methodological and empirical research necessary for measuring innovation outcomes, and to contribute to the development of domestic methodologies for monitoring innovation. Innovation must demonstrate some added value compared to other existing alternatives, whether at the organizational or societal level; in this area, many exciting research objectives can be identified. A key research objective is to provide the research findings necessary for the successful operation of startups, in line with the “Investor University” concept. Our research areas cover the entire process, from assessing innovation needs (managed idea generation) to achieving socio-economic impact. Our research is multidisciplinary and based on extensive international collaboration.
We welcome applicants from a wide variety of professional backgrounds to our doctoral program—those who are drawn to the creative field of innovation, which combines theory with practice to shape the future.
